Why Faith Doesn’t Work for Everyone

The real reason faith fails for many believers. In this message, discover how faith works by law, not luck, and what you must know to make it work for you.

Have you ever wondered why faith seems to work powerfully for some people while for others it feels like shouting into a void?
You pray, you believe, you confess, and yet nothing changes. You fasted, you've declared God's promises, but the breakthrough never comes. It can make you question whether the problem is with you or worse, whether this whole faith thing even works at all. But what if I told you the issue is not that your faith is broken.

The Problem with Faith

It is that most Christians are trying to use faith like a magic formula instead of living in it as a divine law. Here, I am going to show you why faith does not work for everyone and how to make sure it actually works for you. We're not talking about hype, emotion, or wishful thinking. This is about understanding what faith truly is, how it operates, and why I taught that faith is not a mystery. It is predictable, dependable, and built into the spiritual laws of the universe. And the cool part is once you get this, you'll stop struggling, striving, and guessing. You'll start operating in the kind of faith that moves mountains quietly, confidently, consistently.
The Problem with Your Faith
Now, let us be real. If you've walked with God for any amount of time, you've probably felt this quiet frustration. You believe God's Word is true. You read it, speak it, and try to apply it. But when things do not change, you wonder if you're missing something. And here is the part that stings. We've been told that if our prayers are not answered, it is because we did not have enough faith.
That statement has crushed people. It has made them feel ashamed, inadequate, or worse, abandoned by God.

But let me tell you something. The problem is not with your faith. It is with the foundation you're standing on.

The modern church has reduced faith to emotion, to desperation, to pleading.

But true Bible faith is not emotional. It is legal. It is spiritual law. It works the same way every time when you apply it properly.
Faith is governed by laws
"Faith is governed by laws. It is not a mystery. It is not something that cannot be understood. It is not a spiritual shot in the dark.
That changes everything.
Think about it. You do not feel gravity for it to work. You do not need goosebumps to know a seed will grow if you plant it in the right soil. These are laws, unchanging, dependable, set by God.

And faith works exactly the same way. But if you do not know the law or you violate the law, you won't see the result, even if your heart is sincere.

That is why so many believers are frustrated. They're sincere, but sincerely misaligned with how faith actually functions.
Let us look at Hebrews 11:1. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Did you catch that?

Faith is not hope. It is not a vague wishful desire. It is substance.
Faith is substance
It is evidence. That means faith is tangible in the spirit realm. It gives shape to what does not yet exist in the physical. But here is where it gets deep.
You can't operate in real faith if you're unsure of your position in Christ. That is why so many Christians shortcircuit their own faith because they do not understand righteousness.
They think God's blessing is based on behaviour instead of position. But you cannot have bold, mountain moving faith if you still see yourself as a beggar, a sinner, or someone trying to earn favor.
You must see yourself as a son or daughter of God, already accepted, already seated with Christ, already qualified.
The normal condition of the believer
"Faith is the normal condition of the believer who knows what he is in Christ." That's huge. If your faith is not working, it may be because your identity is still rooted in religion, not relationship.
You can't confess the Word with power if you still see yourself as unworthy.

That is why Satan works overtime to accuse you, shame you, and keep you focused on your failures. He knows that a believer who understands their righteousness is unstoppable.

Faith comes by hearing
That is why the message of righteousness is not optional. It is foundational to faith. Romans 10:17 says, "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."

But the Greek word used there is rhema, the spoken, revealed word.
This is not just about reading scripture.
It is about hearing what God is saying to you personally. It is revelation truth. And that is where many believers miss it.

They try to operate in borrowed faith. They repeat things they've heard others say, but it has not become alive in them yet.

Faith only works when the Word has been revealed to your spirit. Until then, it is just information, not transformation. It is just information not transformation
I taught that sense knowledge cannot give faith.

Faith is a product of the recreated human spirit. In other words, you can't reason your way into faith. You can't analyze your way into breakthrough.

Faith does not come from your head. It comes from your spirit.
That is why feeding on the Word is not just a habit. It is a necessity. When the Word gets planted deep enough, it produces faith automatically. You don't have to strain or sweat. It grows like a seed. That is how the law of faith works.
So, let us get practical. If faith has not been working for you, do not despair.
Three key areas

Let's examine three key areas where the connection might be broken.

First, check your identity. Do you truly believe you are righteous in Christ apart from works? Or are you still trying to earn what Jesus Christ already gave you?

Second, check the source of your faith. Are you acting on head knowledge, or has the Word become real to your spirit? Are you confessing what you heard someone else say or what God has spoken to you?

And third, check the soil. Are you meditating on the Word daily, letting it sink deep, or just grabbing verses when you're in crisis?
Faith is not a panic button. It is a lifestyle.
Faith is a lifestyle
Faith is not something you try when all else fails. It's the way we're supposed to live. Galatians 2:20 says, 'The life I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, not faith in the son of God, faith of the son of God.
That means we're not even operating in our own strength. His faith is in us, but it only flows when we're connected to our identity in him. When you know who you are, you won't beg, plead, or panic. You'll speak, stand, and expect results just like Jesus Christ did.

And here is where everything changes.
Faith is not trying to get God to move. It is aligning with what he's already done. Faith is the hand that reaches into the spirit and brings what's already yours into manifestation.

You're not trying to convince God to bless you. He already has. Ephesians 1:3 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ." Past tense, already done.

Faith simply lays hold of it. So let's stop treating faith like a lottery ticket and start treating it like a law. A law that works when you work it. A law that flows from identity, not effort. A law that is predictable, powerful, and completely yours in Christ.

You do not need more faith. You need clearer revelation. And that comes from time in the Word, time with the Spirit, and a heart anchored in righteousness.

"The heart faith that brings results is the result of the Word
dwelling richly in you."

You need clearer revelation
So if your faith has not been bringing results, do not get discouraged. Get planted. Get rooted. Let the Word go deep. Let the Holy Spirit show you who you are. And then speak not with fear, but with the authority of a son.

Now, if this message helped you, the next one will blow your mind. Because if faith is a law, and we now know it is, then what happens when you become a new creation? What actually changes at the spirit level?

Most Christians have no idea what truly happened the moment they got born again. So, in the next message, we're going to unpack exactly what it means to be a new creation in Christ. You'll see why your old limitations no longer apply, why your past has zero authority, and how to live from your spirit instead of your struggle. Do not miss it.
