Is there a rule against using AI. It is being used in industry and why not...papers are not a test of aptitude. Please discard thesis and everything and have a face to face interview to test students. We are still too set on ways of exams and projects. This doesn't happen on real life. If robots are going to take over the world, it is going to use AI and AI will plagiarise every professional works. It's a merry go round and jasmine learning will be leaps and bounds of conventional thinking professors.
