Authority isn't something you receive because you speak loudly or because other people admire your faith. Spiritual authority is born through surrender. Sometimes the greatest testimony isn't that temptation disappeared, but that your love for God became greater than your desire to return to the life He called you out of. God is shaping your character, renewing your mind, strengthening your spirit and preparing you for assignments that require a heart fully surrendered to Him. But those are the same lies that have trapped countless people in cycles of regret. Sin always promises satisfaction, but it can never deliver lasting peace. It offers excitement for a moment and leaves emptiness that lasts much longer. When you begin living differently, don't be surprised if the attacks continue. In fact, there may be moments when they seem even more intense. Thoughts may appear out of nowhere. Old memories may suddenly return. Situations you thought were behind you may resurface. Don't mistake those moments as proof that God has left you. Sometimes they are simply opportunities to prove that you are no longer the person you used to be.
