The Bible versus the Quran. Which one stands the test of history?
Let's take a look at the Bible first. It might shock you that many Christians and most Muslims have no idea how much evidence we actually have of the Bible. For example, Jesus, also called Isa by Muslims, quoted Himself or referred to the Old Testament over 300 times because this was the Scripture .
He already had back then and not only trusted, taught, lived by, but came to fulfill. It was the same Scripture the apostles preached from before they wrote the New Testament.
Chapter 2: The Dead Sea Scrolls Discovery at Qumran
Let me take you with me to one of the places that proves this. Qumran. The 0:49 Dead Sea Scrolls. Yeah. Here we are. We're here at Qumran. Do you guys knoW what happened in ? This is where they found the Dead Sea Scrolls accidentally.
Welcome to Qumran. This is amazing. So, it's amazing because not only do we see where these people live, their scenes and wrote the DIY scrolls, but the the wildlife. Look, look here, Nikita. Look, look, look.
I think they did not read the sign, those deer. It says they're a dangerous cliff, but they didn't care. They ran right at the sign. They ran down. Cave. Oh, there it is. Yes. right over there. 15,000 additional fragments of scrolls we're discovering. It's a lot. And the amazing thing, it's not cave number one. Cave number one is located a bit north to here. This is where he found the first ones. But this one l found 1952. Wow. Amazing, isn't it? It was there for 2,000 years. Nobody knew about it until a shepherd boy found it. Now, let me share with you something that's amazing to me and also shocking at the same time. Our Israeli guide, Lior, he stood in front of one of these manuscripts and he said this the same Hebrew letters but which I can still read.
Yeah. And immediately comes the question why it's so important right now. Why is this so important?
Because the Hebrew language written over thousands of years ago, it still matches exactly what is written, translated in our English Bibles that we have today. Translations like the ESV, the King James version, the CSB, the NASB, it's still the same. The same books, same words, the same prophecies about the Messiah. All the fundamental truths of Scripture is still exactly the same.
You can think for yourself if the Scriptures was changed, edited or corrupted, these ancient scrolls that were found. They would have exposed it immediately. But they did the opposite.
Chapter 3: Ancient Scribes and Manuscript Preservation
They confirmed that it is the truth and it's still the same. Who wrote it? Well, what we know from archaeology is it points to the Essenes. That's what we think. And I walked with Nikita and Lior where these people used to live.
These were Jewish scribes who lived here in the desert in the middle of nowhere and devoted their lives to copying Scripture with extreme accuracy.
Now you need to understand that this was not the only group, the Essenes, that perfected this craft of preserving the ancient Scriptures to make sure that the next generations could have it accurately. If one mistake was made, they would throw it away. This stretches back to ancient ancient times.
Another place that we went to to see how this happened was at Masada. Let's go there. Here we go.
We are at Masada. We're not going to hike all the way. We're going to take this guy and we're going to take it up on top of Masada. If you look out here, see the Israeli flag and what is out there in the distance, the Dead Sea, the mightiest of all the fortresses. Welcome to Masada.
Masada. The length 700 m. Okay. Wow. We are getting there. This is the place where we found the scroll of Ezekiel. Okay. The scroll of Ezekiel. And 4:53 and we've not not the complete one, but we found fragments of the scroll. Wow. Back 2000 years ago.
Wow. Yes. And why it's so precious? First of all, it's bring us back to the Zealots that were zeal to reach God. Yeah. And the second thing, do you see the gentleman here? Yeah. A rabbi. He's a scribe. He's a scriber. Yeah. Is the one that copy letter by letter as in ancient time we had those people. Yeah. We have them today. Yeah. They write it letter by letter without any mistake. How much is it to write? It's the basic price starts from $30,000 and it can reach $100,000, every expensive because it take times to make it. Sometimes a year. Yeah. So it's a work of a year of a person, sometimes even more. Sure. And this has been carried on in ancient times, where they're so meticulous and that's why even when they found the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Bibles we have today, there's no difference, right? We can see it's exactly the same. There's no changes in the fundamental Word of God. It's amazing of these people. And it still continues until this day, even up here in Masada.
Do you get it? Even if one detail was wrong, they destroyed a whole copy and they had to start again. At Qumran, 15,000 fragments were found, including the oldest copies of Isaiah, Psalms, Deuteronomy, and more. So, what scholars did is they compared these ancient scrolls with the Old Testament that we have today in our Bibles. And it's the same. They match. Nothing was changed.
Chapter 4: Comparing Ancient Scrolls to Modern Bibles
These scrolls are older than Islam, older than the Quran, and older than every claim that the Bible was corrupted. Now, what about the New Testament? Listen to me very closely.
Chapter 5: The New Testament and Eyewitness Accounts
Those who followed Jesus, the disciples, who saw Him, who heard everything He said, they wrote down what He said and what they saw. The eyewitness accounts, there wasn't just one. There were four.
But before we go into that, remember there are a lot of people who followed Jesus in this time . Not just the disciples, they were the 12, but then the 70 disciples as well. And then all those that believed in Him. So any one of them could have immediately spotted a lie if it was written down because those letters were sent to and fro the early church.
Now I'm going through this a little bit fast. So let me slow down. If you're questioning, who are these 70 disciples?
I thought there were only 12 apostles. Well, they were the close 12 disciples, but also the 70 whom the Lord appointed Himself according to Luke 10:1. Apart from that, remember Jesus preached for three long years. Any one of those thousands of people that met Him, that was healed by Him, that saw Him, that understood that He was God, and could immediately when they read the Gospels, Mark, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, they would have been able to spot a lie if there was a lie in it.
Now compare that with Muhammad. When he had the first encounter of the supposed angel, he was alone. There was no one that witnessed it. No disciples, no witnesses, no one that can confirm that that actually happened in the cave. It's actually more shocking information here about who or what Muhammad actually first thought this being was. Over time, many revelations came from this supposed angel and most of the time Muhammad was alone. Some who later were nearby, but no one could see this angel for themselves. But the New Testament letters were written down by Jesus's disciples, and it spread extremely fast while they were still alive. We know that because many of the letters they wrote were addressed to specific churches or people, and they were sent to the early church. As time went on, it only increased. And that's why today we have over 25,000 New Testament manuscripts, more than any ancient book in history. Now, this is even more shocking that some of the copies came within the first generation of the apostles, others only 100 years after. And they were found in different countries far away from each other.
Egypt, Syria, Greece, Turkey, Europe. This means no single group or leader could change the message. Do you get it? The Bible is the most well-attested book of the ancient world. There's nothing like it that can be tested over and over and over and that we can see with clear evidence that it is still the same. So when someone comes and they say, "Well, the Bible is just a fairy tale. It's been written so many time over ,over so many times, translated and corrupted, you can't trust it. They say that with no evidence at all. They're just basically repeating a claim that they've heard someone else say it. Like even in Islam, a lot of people, especially young Muslims, they just hear their fathers, they tell them that or their imams and they blindly believe it without really doing the research and testing also comparing the Quran with the Bible.
And so now I want to speak to Muslims directly with a lot of love. Islam teaches in the Quran that the Bible was corrupted. But I've just proven to you that it was not. So what about Islam? What about the Quran? Have you ever tested it the same way that you try to disprove the Bible?
Chapter 6: How the Quran Was Revealed
I know you also believe in Jesus only that He's a prophet called Isa. But did you know that He said in Matthew 7:2, "For with the judgment you pronounce, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
So let's take a look at the Quran. And this is not to attack you personally. This is just a look at honest history. So let's first look at how the Quran was created. And then we'lI talk about some of the contradictions that's in it. The entire Quran came through one man, private person that said that he received these revelations from Gabriel aka Gabriel the angel.
And this being appeared to him many times and the Quran was formed. But there was no one, not a single person that could actually confirm that this angel did appear to Muhammad in this cave called Hira. No one saw it. Only one man, Muhammad. That's a huge difference when you talk about hard evidence. It doesn't compare to the Bible at all with all these witnesses.
Now, let's take a look at the historical facts with regards to Muhammad because there's a few things that even you might not know. And you can research this yourself. In fact, you have to if you want to with, from a genuine honest heart, compare the Bible with the Quran, but also their founders, Jesus and Muhammad.
Chapter 7: Early Islamic Sources and Historical Questions
Number one, according to the early Islamic sources preserved by Al-Tabari, after the first encounter with this supposed angel, Muhammad said, "I feared for myself." Some early receptions even record him fearing madness or possession.
Number two, Muhammad attempted suicide many times because of the supposed angelic visitations. This is recorded in Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 87.
Number three, Khadijah, who is Muhammad's first wife, tested the spirit with unusual rituals that do not match biblical angels at all and she convinced him that it was the angel Gabriel. This is recorded in Ibn Ishaq and al Tabiri, History of the Prophets and Kings. Now, this is already crazy, but it even gets crazier.
Number four, Muhammad admitted that Satan spoke through him. It's recorded in Ibn Ishaq, al Tabiri, and early Islamic historians. And Muhammad recited verses honoring pagan goddesses, al-Lat, al-'Uzzá, and Manāt, and then later said Satan caused them in his mouth. This doesn't just sound demonic. I believe this is demonic. And I'm not saying this to attack you. This is just history. It's factually history that you can look up yourself.
Now, apart from all these writings, why l also believe it's demonic is because I grew up with it. I saw my father pray for many demon-possessed people, especially a woman in Satanism called the wife of the devil. This is one of the highest ranks you can achieve in Satanism. The devil is real. Satanists, they are here. They have basically places of power in each country. And this was in Pretoria when I was little, six, seven, eight years old. This is where it started. And more people heard about it. And some more people who needed help came to my dad. But it was a very big satanic group in this area. I remember even my friend Jani, his mom was sitting in the church and she wanted to become a Christian and this demon manifested in her. There were six demons in her and her eyes were like that and she grabbed her husband's leg like this in church and people looked and they had to pray for her, take her out of church and she's still healed completely. Those demons are gone. But this was not because of Satanism. This was because they were when she was little. She played on the farm and they were a sangoma-like, a witch doctor, and she played with the bones and the story is a little bit long so I'm not going to tell it in detail but these were the things that we knew and saw. Now this woman who was groomed in Satanism to become the wife of the devil, she told us that when she first saw the devil, he was a beautiful man. He was not a gruesome monster or a dragon as the book of Revelation calls him, the dragon of old, the ancient serpent. But we know the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 11:14, "And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." So of course demons can pretend to be angels.They can reveal certain truths to people to start new religions and to believe lies. Of course he would do that. He's been here for thousands of years on the earth walking like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. He knows how we as humans think and how many people want to be special. Oh, I got this revelation through an angel. Not only will the devil bring us new gods, different religions to worship, right? Because the Bible says in the Old Testament, New Testament, that behind these supposed gods are actually demons. But it will also use the truth to sound so similar to what the God describes about Himself, the world in the Bible, but bring in 5 percent poison as we see he did with Islam. Why am I saying poison 5 percent? For example, rat poison, 95 percent is good food. That's why the rat wants to eat it. Humans want to accept this new revelation, the truth. But it's the 5 percent lie that kills you, that kills the rat. This is how many other fake religions started. Demons pretending to be angels revealing themselves to humans, giving them a different truth when you compare it to the Bible.
This is how Mormonism started.
Jehovah's Witnesses, the Baha'i Faith, Yazidi Religion, new age channeling, Swedenborgianism, Falun Gong in China, and many others.
Do you see the pattern here? This angel that revealed himself to Muhammad, the way he treated Muhammad just in that alone when we compare it to scripture in the way that how all other angels appear to people and talk to them we can immediately see something is very very wrong. This was not an angel of light in the descriptions of how Muhammad saw it and how this being treated Muhammad and how Muhammad reacted.
These descriptions are exactly what I saw with demon possession when I was younger. Islam's earliest records say that when the spirit came to Muhammad, he shook, collapsed, sweated, and was pressed so hard he thought he would die. Sahih al-Bukhari even describes Gabriel grabbing him and crushing him three times, shouting, "Read."
Now, even as a Muslim, if this doesn't shock you a little bit, you're not honest with yourself. This should shock any person who's got a genuine search for truth because this is not normal. There's also many writings describing him making sounds like the snorting of a camel. The same words in...page 106 and 107. There's actually much more that I want to say on this, but let's keep it short.
Chapter 8: The Compilation of the Quran
Now, let's take a look at the Quran itself because that's how it started. But the Quran itself, there were those in Muhammad's inner circle, the companions or those closest to him that had different versions of it. Some were shorter, some were longer. Just so I'm very clear here, these were the people who lived in Muhammad's time, those around him, his inner circle. There were different versions, recitations. And then what happened?
The third, Caliph Uthman, he chose only one and he destroyed all the others. So there were no way that you can compare this one with all the others. This is shocking, right? This is not Christian history. This is Islamic history. There's no way that the Quran can even begin to be tested in the same way that we can test the Bible today with all the different versions or the copies of it. They were all destroyed. So just on this fact alone comparing the Quran with the Bible, the Quran falls way short.
Chapter 9: Do the Scriptures Contradict?
Now when God reveals His truth to us when we look at the Bible, the Quran, we know that God will speak the truth and His Word because He speaks the truth, will never contradict itself. Right? But when we look at the Quran, there are many contradictions, things that cannot be overlooked that contradict each other.
Let's take a look at number one. Surah 2:29 says, "Allah created the earth first and then the heavens." But then Surah 79:27 to 30 says, "The heavens were created first and then the earth." So there's two opposite creation orders. Both cannot be true at the same time.
Here's another one. The Quran says in Surah 6:34 and also in 1827 that no one can ever change the words of Allah. It also calls the Torah and the Gospels the words of Allah. And in Surah 5:47, it even tells Christians to follow the gospel that Allah revealed. But then other verses like Surah 2:75 and says the Jews changed the Scripture. These ideas cannot be true at the same time because they contradict each other.
The Quran says that the Torah and the Gospels was given by Allah. Alright? What Allah has revealed therein. And the Quran also says that His words can never be changed. It's true. But then he says that His word was corrupted. But now we have physical proof even from the Dead Sea Scrolls that they found in Qumran that the Bible was never corrupted. That means the problem is not with the Bible. The problem is with the Quran.
Now one of the biggest contradictions is Surah 4 Verse 57. It says Jesus was not crucified, but everyone knows that Jesus did die on the cross. Every historian, Christian, Jewish, Roman, atheist, they all know for a fact that Jesus died on a cross. He did die for me and for you. There's so much evidence. The evidence, biblical and non-biblical, that it is a fact that Jesus did die on the cross.
So, the Quran does not speak the truth. It contradicts truth. It contradicts history, facts. And again, I'm not saying this to attack anyone. I'm saying this because it is the truth.
And your very soul is at stake. If the Quran contradicts itself, if it contradicts reality, facts, history, then you have to ask yourself, where did it really come from? If you believe Jesus was a prophet, maybe you need to look into the life of Jesus himself and look at His own words because He wasn't just a prophet. That's not what He said. And the shocking thing for me even to this day that's absolutely amazing is that when you look at the Old Testament, you see all those hundreds of prophecies of Jesus that would take place and it all happened. Do you get it? It's prophecy centuries before Jesus came, where He would be born, what He would do, even just around 30, about His crucifixion. All of it happening exactly as was written thousands of years ago. But only God can do that. Demons can also try to predict the future and sometimes they can be accurate but not always. Only God is always accurate.
For example, Isaiah 53 describing the suffering Messiah.
Psalm 22 describing crucifixion before crucifixion even existed.
Micah 5:2 saying He would be born in Bethlehem.
Daniel 7 showing the Son of Man receiving eternal authority.
There's so many. What was prophesied in the Old Testament and what came true in the New Testament. And remember, they were written different times, hundreds and thousands of years apart.
The first prophecy about the Messiah started back before the flood with Adam and Eve. Genesis 3:15, the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman. It describes there that the seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent. That is what Jesus did 2,000 years ago. No other religious leader in history did this. Prophecies about them and it all came true. Not Muhammad, not Buddha, not anyone, only Jesus.
