Spiritual Warriors & Prayers Warriors : Call on God

... helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit. Taking up this armor of God in our families is what will guard them against the deceptions and temptations of the enemy.

Let us put on the armor like spiritual warriors.

Let us guard our homes from the enemy.

Let us resist the devil and he will flee from us.

Now let us pray.

πŸ™

Lord Jesus, we thank you for being our saviour and we thank you for being our protection.

God, we thank you that we know every battle we face, we can win because we are on your side, because we're in your army.

And Lord, as I pray right now, I pray for each and every person who's reading here.

Lord, you know the battles that we're facing.

You know what we're wrestling with.

And I pray that you would help us, Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord, intervene.

There are obstacles that we can't move.

And so we call on your name, Lord Jesus Christ.

There are struggles that we cannot overcome unless you show your hand.

There are situations that we're powerless to change.

But you, King Jesus Christ, can turn things around.

You can take what the devil meant for evil and turn it to good.

You can take everything sent by the enemy and turn it around for your glory.

The Bible in Exodus 14:14 says, "The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still."

Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that you would fight for our families to be kept from the enemy, to be delivered from the clutches of evil, and to be completely devoted to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Father, fight for our children.

May they know good from evil according to biblical standards, not the standards of the world.

Fight for our children, Lord, so that the enemy may never have any influence over them.

I pray and declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over our lives.

Lord Jesus Christ is at the center of everything and nothing else matters but you, my King.

Deuteronomy 3:22 says, "Do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God himself will fight for you."

My trust is in you, God, because you're the God who can never fail.

Your word tells me that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us out of them all.

This world will present opposition to us.

But Lord, we trust you to fight the battle for us.

The enemy will do what he can to try and bind us and keep us in chains.

However, we trust you, Lord Jesus Christ, to deliver us and rescue us.

Yes, we may encounter many hardships and perplexing circumstances, but Lord Jesus Christ, we look to you for deliverance.

So, despite what confronts us, we rejoice that you are for us, King Jesus Christ.

As your children, we rejoice at the fact that we do not fight alone, but our Lord fights for us.

You fight our battles, Lord, and for that l am ever so grateful.

Father, I declare your word in 2 Corinthians 4: verses 8-10, which says, "We are hardpressed on every side, but not crushed, perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned, struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

May you take all of the glory for every victory. Lord Jesus Christ, may your name be glorified each time we overcome.

Father, I thank you for hearing this prayer. It's in the mighty name of  Lord Jesus Christ that I pray and I give you thanks.

Amen. πŸ™

The Bible speaks clearly about the reality of spiritual warfare.

Now, you can bury your head in the sand and pretend like this doesn't exist.

But my friends, let me tell you that the word of God would not mention spiritual warfare if it weren't a reality.

But rather than focusing on the enemy we face, I want us to focus on the weapons that we've been given.

Ephesians 6:10 to18 says, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one, and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.

I want you to notice something.

The belt of truth,

the breastplate of righteousness,

feet fitted with the gospel of peace,

the shield of faith,

the helmet of salvation.

These are all defensive elements for our armor.

These are all meant to help us block the attacks of the enemy.

They are designed to secure us and ensure that no weapon from the enemy's camp can cause serious damage to us.

The only offensive weapon that we do have is the sword of the spirit, the word of God, a word that is living.

This is what we are to defeat the enemy with.

And so I want you to understand each of these individual elements that make up our armor.

Now Jesus Christ said he is the way, the truth, and the life.

And we need to gird ourselves with this truth.

The devil is the father of lies, but with the belt of truth on, we will not fall victim to the enemy's deception.

We are to wear the breastplate of righteousness because it protects us from all of the enemy's unclean devices, his sinful schemes.

With this on, we pursue righteousness and turn away from sin.

On our feet, we are to be fitted with the gospel of peace. And I believe that this means we need to be rooted in God's gospel of Christ.

And then there is the shield of faith

This is what protects us from the arrows that the enemy throws.

Arrows of discouragement, arrows of depression, low self-esteem.

Now, your head is somewhere that your enemy will attempt to attack frequently because if he can affect you in your mind, he can affect your life.

And so, the helmet of salvation is a must for all believers.

And finally, we are told to take up the sword of the spirit.

The sword of the spirit is God's word

God's word is living and we can use his word to defeat the enemy.

We can speak God's word over our lives for protection and safety.

And so, dear friend, when you face obstacles in life, don't put your trust in people. Trust in God.

Don't rely on people or things. Trust in God Almighty because he is seeking.

For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth just looking for the person who is fully committed and confident in Him.

We all have obstacles in this life.

We will all come face to face with things that will threaten our faith in the Lord.

We'll come up against opposition that may paralyze even the most courageous hearts with fear.

But you see over and over again in the Bible, we're told not to worry.

We're told not to fear, not to be dismayed, not to be discouraged, but instead to look to the Lord as your deliverer.

Look to the Lord as your rescuer.

Look to the Lord as your help and source of strength .

And now let us pray.

πŸ™

Lord Jesus, I thank you for the plan you have over my life.

May your will prevail.

May your plan and will for my life be the one that I follow.

Lord, I know that the enemy also has a plan.

He has a plan to steal, kill, and to destroy.

And Father, in the name of Lord Jesus Christ, I break every plan from the devil.

I refuse for him to have any influence over me or my family.

I speak the blood of Jesus Christ upon my future, my family, and my health.

I speak the blood of Jesus Christ on the works of my hands, on my coming in, and my going out.

I plead the blood of Jesus Christ upon everyone and everything attached and associated to me.

The devil will not come in my life to wreak havoc in Lord Jesus Christ's name.

No devil shall prevail in my life.

No evil force or principality shall gain a foothold over me.

Holy Spirit, help me to put on the belt of truth always so that I can recognize truth from deception.

I pray that I may always have on the breastplate of righteousness so that when the enemy tries to attack me with sin and impurity, I will be strong and remain focused on my pursuit of holiness.

Help me and cover me, Holy Spirit, so that my heart may be made whole, so that my heart may be made pure.

When the devil tries to attack my heart and mind, I pray that he will have no effect on me because I have put on the breastplate of righteousness

I pray that I may have a peaceful character, Lord, a peaceful personality.

Let this peace be rooted in knowing that my saviour, my Lord Jesus Christ, is the Prince of Peace.

I pray, Father, that when the devil plots against me, when he tries to attack me, may the shield of faith defend me.

I pray that my faith is and will be strong because it is anchored in your word because it's anchored in Jesus Christ and not in any situation or circumstance on this earth.

Lord Jesus Christ, I know that the battle of my mind is one of the key places that spiritual warfare is fought.

Help me to renew my mind.

Help me to develop a mind that is focused on you at all times.

Give me all that I need to stand strong in this life.

Help me to meditate on your word which is living and sharper than any two-edged sword.

Your word is truth and there is power in your word

May the Holy Spirit constantly urge and convict me to meditate and study your saving word.

Lord, I pray that in this battle against the forces of evil, may I never be found without the armor you have given me.

May I never be found naked and ill equipped for this fight before me, but instead give me a wise mind and a faithful heart that is always ready to fight the enemy.

I thank you, Lord, for your might and strength.

I thank you for giving me the resources I need to overcome the devil and live victoriously.

In the name of Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen. πŸ™

Do you have a life verse?

You know that one passage of scripture that you go back to over and over again because it resonates with you more than any other part of the Bible regardless of what season you're in.

Now, don't get me wrong, we need the Bible in its totality.

However, we cannot deny the fact that there are passages of scripture that speak to us more than others.

These are what I like to call life verses.

One of my favorite life verses is Jeremiah 33:3. It says, "Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know."

This verse has carried me through the best of times and through the toughest times in my life.

And the reason it resonates with me so much is because this is God making a promise.

Call to Me and I will answer you.

So you mean to tell me that God, the almighty creator, the one who part seas, the one who has the earth as his footstool, the one who is from everlasting to everlasting, God Almighty tells me, "Call to me and I will answer you." Wow.

Perhaps the reason that this verse speaks to me so much is because there have been times when I've called on friends and they did not come through for me. They were not there for me.

There have been occasions when my own family disappointed me when I called on them.

But when l call on God, things always worked out tor me in the end.

Now, that's not to say that l received an immediate answer or a suddenly kind of miracle.

No, there are times that I've called on God for certain things and I've had to wait.

I've called on God for other things and I somehow managed to endure.

Or rather, I should say, I was given the grace to  endure.

So, dear friend, what's your life verse?

Is it Exodus 14:14, which says, "The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."

To someone who has some type of conflict in their life, within their family, or at their workplace, this   verse may be the very thing that gets you through your battles, knowing that the Lord will fight for you, and you will have peace.

For someone else. Psalm 23:6 could be the very verse that carries you through life.

The Bible says, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

So during tough times, you're holding on to this promise.

The goodness and mercy of God will follow me all the days of my life

During seasons when you are lacking, you still hold on to the fact that the goodness and mercy of God will follow me.

Now, for someone who may not have a life verse, let me just give you a few more scriptures that minister to me.

Luke 10:119 says, "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Jeremiah 17:7 says, "But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.

And finally, Psalm 125:1. "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. "

Call on God.

It's a simple statement, a simple instruction, but oh, how we so often fail to carry it out.

Sometimes our call just isn't loud enough because  there's unbelief and doubt present in our hearts.

Sometimes we're not patient enough to actually   wait for the Lord to answer.

We call, but we don't wait for the answer to come because we want things to happen instantly.

And sadly, sometimes many of us don't call at all.

We call on friends.

We call on our worldly resources.

We call on so many things and so many people except God.

But the Bible says in Jeremiah 33:3, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."

Dear reader, I want to encourage you today to start calling when it gets to be too much for you.

Call on God

When you need healing, call on God

When you stand in need of a miracle, call on the Lord.

Reach out to God because he's the God who never sleeps nor slumbers.

When you call on him, he can make a way where there seems to be no way.

The Bible says in Isaiah 45:2,

"I will go before you and make the crooked places straight. I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. "

Listen, we have an awesome God

We serve the One who can level every mountain before you.

And even then, just because there's a mountain, just because you're going through trials and tribulations, that doesn't mean that God's not with you.

Who told you that you'd never go through any trials or hard times?

Don't let anyone tell you that being in the will of God won't get you in trouble.

Don't think for a second that you're exempt from challenges in life because you're a Christian and you're in the will of God.

Jesus Christ was in the will of God and he went straight to the cross to die a painful and horrific death.

Job, he was in the will of God and he went through hell on earth even though God said that Job was an upright and faithful man.

Yes, you may encounter affliction, but isn't it worth it if it means that your trouble is going to bring glory to God?

Isn't that challenge worth going through?

If it means that the Lord has the opportunity to demonstrate his power and show himself to be a great deliverer.

So call on the Lord, saints, because you may be sick, but you have a healer.

You may be in pain, but you have a comforter.

When you need a saviour, call on Him

He's our loving keeper.

He is eternal and limitless in strength.

He's an able helper.

As for me, I will forever call on the name that is above every other name, the name of Jesus Christ.

And here's the thing.

Of course, we ought to seek and call on Him when times are tough.

But we should continuously call on the Lord even when life is good and when all is well.

We've got to start calling on Him simply to say thank you Lord.

Thank you for this season of peace and blessings.

Call on him to praise him.

Jesus Christ responded to the calls of many who came to him when he walked on the earth.

Those sick, those possessed with demons, those who were cast out by society, those who were blind, all called on the Lord.  He answered everyone's call.

Hebrews 13:8 says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

So, be encouraged. Call on Him today.

He will restore you.

He will deliver you.

And he will save you.

He most certainly will hear your cry.

Now let us go to God in prayer.

πŸ™

Dear God, we call out to you, Master.

We call out to you, Lord Jesus Christ, because our families need you, God.

Our children need you.

We need you, Lord Jesus Christ, to touch our lives.

We need you to quicken our spirits and bring revival to our hearts and into our homes.

Lord, we call out to you and ask that your presence surround us.

May your presence dwell in our homes.

May your peace fill our hearts in these times of uncertainty.

Lord Jesus Christ, we call on you because there is none like you.

You are the Rock of Ages, the chief cornerstone, the great high priest, the holy one, the everlasting Father.

And we call on you, Lord, because you've said in your word. Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know

We call on you, King Jesus Christ, because your word says, "Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you and you will honor me.

Lord, I pray for every person reading these words , here and now..

For the person who's crying out for healing today, may you answer their cry, Lord Jesus Christ.

For the person that's crying out for love and comfort, may they find wholeness in your presence.

We declare your word in Psalm 145 :18 - 21.

The Lord is near to all who call on him. To all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him. He also hears their cry and saves them. The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

Your name is set high and above all other names.

Lord, thank you for your amazing and endless love.

praise your holy name today.

And God, l acknowledge that you alone are God.

Yours is the power and the glory and the honor.

Thank you, Father, because you're faithful to equip me with all that I need.

Your wisdom is unparalleled, your power unmatched.

You are the God who provides us with all that we need.

Actually, you give us more than we need.

Whether it's healing, restoration, protection, or peace, we look only to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord, you're faithful to empower.

You're faithful to help us stand strong and victorious and not be defeated.

And because Jesus Christ is victorious over Satan, Lord, we know that we too can walk in victory.

So I declare that through the grace of God, we have the faith to stand against Satan's attacks and win.

We are not defeated by our troubles, in Jesus Christ's name.

We are not oppressed by our afflictions, in Jesus Christ name.

As long as we hold on to you, Lord Jesus Christ, we will live and enjoy a victorious life.

We will know you as the Healer.

We will know you as the One who can restore double what the enemy stole.

We will know you as a Shield and Protector.

Father, enlighten our spirits and help us to see through the eyes of faith.

Help us, Lord, so that the eyes of faith may lead us to walk in your will.

Blessed be your holy name, Lord Jesus Christ, both now and forever more.

It's in the mighty and matchless name of  Lord Jesus Christ that we pray this prayer. Amen. πŸ™

Home warriors: Call on God

More and more these days, I found it necessary to spend more time in prayer, specifically praying about my home.

I'm praying for God's presence to be rich in my home always, for his peace to abide between the walls of every room.

I'm praying for the Holy Spirit to fill every room and ensure that the devil has no influence over the family, my children, or marriage.

But this was not always the case.

Praying for my home was not always at the top of my agenda as it is nowadays.

But as I look around and hear and see the messages out there in society, as I look at the family and how the devil is aggressively targeting homes, I find that I need God's grace more and more each and every day.

The lives of our children are precious.

And the best thing we can do is to go before the Lord and pray for our kids and grandchildren.

Marriage is another area that we need the grace of God in.

We need to pray for a spirit of unity to bind us in the home.

A spirit of forgiveness and kindness to be rich in the home.

Dear reader/friend, today as you listen, take a moment.

Doesn't have to be a well thought out fluent prayer, but speak to God.

Walk around your house or your room and just invite the presence of God to be here always.

Speak God's word over your own home.

Pray that the Lord is your strength and salvation in this house.

Pray from 2 Corinthians 13:14 and say, "The grace of my Lord Jesus Christ is within this home. The love of God and the communion of the Holy Ghost fills this home."

Find a scripture that you can speak over your home.

If you need peace, pray that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard my home, my heart and mind

If you need protection, declare that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him.

Deuteronomy 6: 6 to 9 says,

"And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you're at home, when you're on the road, when you're going to bed, and when you're getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Our homes are more than just physical structures.

Homes are places of refuge, love, and spiritual growth.

Now, I believe that we should be seeking God's presence and blessings within our households each and every day because of the following reasons.

1. Seeking God's presence and blessings within our household will establish a foundation of faith.

In Psalm 127:1, we read, "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain."

Our homes are built upon more than bricks and mortar. They're built upon the foundation of faith in God.

Prayer invites God's presence into our homes, establishing a solid foundation of faith that withstands the storms of life.

Dear reader/listener, there's a war happening right now.

And many people don't even realize they're in the war.

But it's happening quietly, suddenly, relentlessly in our homes.

The devil is attacking families like never before.

He's not just targeting individuals.

He's targeting the very foundation God designed to reflect his love, his unity, and his strength, the family.

And if you've felt the tension in your marriage, if you've seen confusion in your children, if you've watched your home shift from peace to conflict, you're not imagining it.

This is spiritual warfare.

Be sober, be well-balanced, and be self-disciplined.

Be alert and cautious at all times.

That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, fiercely hungry, seeking someone to devour.

That's the word of God according to first Peter 5:8.

1 Peter 5:8 advises believers to be sober-minded and vigilant because the devil is like a roaring lion, seeking to devour those who are not alert. This verse emphasizes the importance of spiritual awareness and readiness in the face of temptation and danger.

There's an old saying, when it rains, it pours.

Have you ever felt like that?

Have you ever felt like there's something going on in your life and it's deeper than what your eyes can see?

Have you ever felt like there's something going on in your family, something going on in your household that doesn't seem natural?

It seems like there's some other force at work because it's one thing after another.

It is attack after attack. It is battle after battle.

From another perspective, have you ever felt like when things are going wrong at home, they tend to carry over in other areas of your life?

It is like when something is going on with your kids at home and it affects your work or when something is going on in your marriage and it ends up affecting your interaction with your kids or if something is going on at work and it affects all of the above.

It quickly becomes apparent that all of these things are interconnected.

And it also reminds us that if the devil can get a foothold in one area, then he has gained a foothold in all of these areas.

The devil is trying in an unprecedented way to destroy families today.

He wants to disrupt the family system and order.

Satan knows that if the Christian family is intact, if the Christian family is working in one accord, then it's one of the strongest weapons against his deceptions.

From the day that Satan spewed his lies to Eve, " you shall not die", he was in the process of disruption.

In order to maximize his deception, he approached Eve when she was alone.

He approached her when she was separated from the family unit.

And he did this because a divided family is easier to conquer and destroy.

The devil is in the business of sewing discord and division in our homes.

He is in the business of causing senseless fights and conflicts.

The devil is in the business of causing husbands hearts to stray away from their wives and vice versa.

He wants to cause the hearts of wives to stray from their husbands. Read Genesis 3:16.

The enemy is in the business of causing children to be rebellious and to have a complaining spirit.

Satan wants to destroy our households because he knows that a spiritually weak home is the easiest way to take us away from God.

He's not new at this.

He has been at this for a long long time.

The strategy of Satan is to attempt to divide and conquer the family.

Immediately after that, he instigates destruction between the same family members.

And the Bible is full of stories of dysfunctional families that fell to the disruption of the enemy.

If Satan was able to disrupt the families of giants of faith such as Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon, then we should be aware of the enemy schemes and prepare to defend our own homes.

Now, when it comes to guarding ourselves and our families against the deceptions and invasions of the enemy, the first question is, how does the devil gain access to our homes and minds?

How does he try to gain access to disrupt our families and our lives?

One of the biggest ways that the devil gains a foothold in our families today is through media.

Music, movies, and social media are huge access points to our families.

Music accesses our brains and our bodies in a way that few other mediums do.

The messages in music today, they are ripe with sinful themes like lust, sex, violence, rebellion among so many other sinful things.

This is one of the easiest ways for Satan to gain access to our minds and our souls.

We listen to lyrics with this content and we become desensitized to it.

Then before we know it, we start to think that these sinful themes are not so bad.

And lust, fornication, violence, and rebellion, they have taken root in our hearts and in our homes without us even realizing it.

Along these same lines, movies and television are perfect pathways for the enemy to take root in our homes.

We constantly watch things that are full of violence, sex, cursing, and all kinds of other images that then lodge themselves in our brains and our hearts.

There are studies that have shown that by fifth grade, the average child has seen 8,000 murders on television.

Think about that.

Think about how Satan might be using that to gain a foothold in our homes.

Not to mention all of the blatantly demonic content in TV and movies.

There are full movies, full shows directly about demons, spirits, and evil spiritual forces that we readily let into our homes.

We are literally opening the door for Satan to come and dwell in our homes.

The same goes for social media which has all of these same elements but also has the added seduction of obsession with self, obsession with image and other people's opinions.

The question for us now is how do we resist the ways of the devil in our families?

How can we close the doors through which the enemy can enter?

First, we can be much more vigilant about the entertainment choices we allow in our households.

We need to vet all content in our homes in one way or another.

An additional strategy when it comes to safeguarding our homes and families is that we should cultivate regular family worship and devotional time together.

If a family is starting or ending their days in prayer and worship and Bible study, that makes it so much more difficult for the devil to enter and get a foothold in that family.

That family has girded themselves with the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit

Taking up this '5-in-1' armor of God in our families is what will guard them against the deceptions and temptations of the enemy.

Let us put on the armor like spiritual warriors.

Let us guard our homes from the enemy.

Let us resist the devil and he will flee from us.

Now let us pray.

πŸ™

Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for being our saviour and we thank you for being our protection.

God, we thank you that we know every battle we face, we can win because we are on your side, because we're in your army.

And Lord, as I pray right now, I pray for each and every person who's reading and listening.

Amen. πŸ™
