The European Union is really flawed. But the general argument that when things don't work, you end them is a wrong argument. When things don't work, you fix them. But my view is you need more Europe, not less Europe. When everything is unanimity of 27 member states, (Unanimity means the state or fact of being unanimous.), when the budget at the union level is 1% of the gross domestic product of Europe but the budget at the national level is 40% ...
( •100% ;EU-27 gross national income, €16 884 billion
•49.7% ; EU-27 general government expenditure, €8 387 billion
•1.1% ; EU budget spending,€191.2 billion )
to my mind that's a bit doomed to fail. When it comes to the Ukraine~Russia war, (@Bruxelles 20-21 Mars 2025, European Council ) how many times has President Costa, the head of the European Council met with Russia President Putin? That would be zero. How can you have peace? How can you expect to reach an agreement if you're not even talking with the other side?
My advice to you is before you spend $800 billion on armaments, make a phone call first. And by the way, the United Ststes of America is more likely to invade the EU than Russia is.
