A meritocratic society should realize, almost as an instinct, that no accomplishment, however superlative, can enable a foreign-birth citizen to overcome the ascriptive reality of having been born in another country. But i was also born in the same globe and world as you were, all within planet Earth. I am no alien.
Question: Why should one's birthplace or even childhood domicile count as more than incidental to national authenticity?
Look at the President of United States of America, will Mr Obama Barack be acepted by all white/black citizens ? Not yet.
