Learn to educate-self

An exponential increase in the universities and the numbers of students obtaining university degrees in the world have grown, so have the doubts.
Q1. What should we aim for in education?
Q2. Should the majority get a university education?
Q3. To what end?

Does education matter?
Education is also a "positional good". More education does not necessarily means more growth. The preoccupation with economic growth can narrow and distort society's idea of what education in the purest sense should be. In the beginning, the concept of university is a forum where liked minded curious minds gather to exchange ideas and experiment with those ideals whether they are true or false. Once proven to be truth, then each one then return to each homeland and gladly share with each respective county-folks about his/her discovery and learning from that forum. No accreditation or certification required.
Education is to be relevant and improve life-value to the present community. Integrate knowledge. Broaden critical thinking with data-based evidence.
Education's purpose is to maximise our human resources. Each student is a "raw-carbon" waiting to be "pressurised" via education to be a precious gem. Any taker?
